Mulino Biondi

We are now in front of the Mulino Biondi (Biondi Mill), formerly owned by the municipality of Castel dell’Alpe, a small fortified rural village dating back to the first half of the 16th century. It is mentioned in a sale dating to 1231, although the original building was located elsewhere, later destroyed by a river flood and relocated to its current site. The 1583 reconstruction was commissioned to the Mengozzi family. The mill remained operational until 1960 and today appears as a three-story building, with two grindstones and a room for wood processing. It is currently used only for educational and demonstration purposes. The mill can also be reached via a hiking trail starting from the Gorgolaio bivouac, recommended for families with children and for those accompanied by four-legged friends.
