A celebration dedicated to the chestnut, its harvest and its traditional products: roasted chestnuts, castagnaccio and boiled chestnuts, all accompanied by excellent Sangiovese wine and framed by the colourful autumn landscape of the surrounding mountains.<br \/>\nThe event also offers visitors the opportunity to take part in chestnut picking in the local chestnut groves.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the traditional food and entertainment programme centred around the Festival Area \u2014 with braziers for roasting chestnuts and stalls serving local specialities such as cappelletti, polenta, tortelli alla lastra, fried piadina and more \u2014 recent years have also introduced, on the second Sunday, the <em>Raviggiolo Festival<\/em>, dedicated to the soft white cheese with a delicate, slightly buttery flavour.
