This year, the oldest festival organised by the Pro Loco reaches its 62nd edition and will take place on 11 and 18 November. A celebration dedicated to the chestnut, its harvest and its traditional products: roasted chestnuts, castagnaccio and boiled chestnuts, all accompanied by excellent Sangiovese wine and framed by the colourful autumn landscape of the surrounding mountains.
The event also offers visitors the opportunity to take part in chestnut picking in the local chestnut groves.
Alongside the traditional food and entertainment programme centred around the Festival Area — with braziers for roasting chestnuts and stalls serving local specialities such as cappelletti, polenta, tortelli alla lastra, fried piadina and more — recent years have also introduced, on the second Sunday, the Raviggiolo Festival, dedicated to the soft white cheese with a delicate, slightly buttery flavour. On the third Sunday, visitors can relive the traditional pig slaughtering ritual (“masè e porc”).
In diesem Jahr erreicht das älteste Fest der Pro Loco seine 62. Ausgabe und findet am 11. und 18. November statt.
Das Fest ist der Kastanie, ihrer Ernte und den daraus hergestellten Produkten gewidmet: geröstete Kastanien, Castagnaccio und gekochte Kastanien, begleitet von ausgezeichnetem Sangiovese-Wein und umrahmt von der farbenfrohen Herbstlandschaft der umliegenden Berge.
Die Veranstaltung bietet außerdem die Möglichkeit, an der Kastanienernte in den örtlichen Kastanienhainen teilzunehmen.
Neben dem traditionellen gastronomischen und unterhaltsamen Angebot rund um das Festgelände — mit Feuerstellen für geröstete Kastanien und Ständen, an denen typische Spezialitäten der Region wie Cappelletti, Polenta, Tortelli alla Lastra, frittierte Piadina und vieles mehr angeboten werden — wurde in den letzten Jahren am zweiten Sonntag auch das Raviggiolo-Fest eingeführt. Dabei handelt es sich um einen weichen Weißkäse mit sehr feinem, leicht buttrigem Geschmack. Am dritten Sonntag wird hingegen die traditionelle Schweineschlachtung („masè e porc“) nachgestellt.
